The original handbook is voluminous, packed full of psychology, and difficult for most to read. Additionally, most flight instructor applicants do not have a background in this material. To their defense, there are only a few known countries with an equivalent handbook. Australia, for example, uses a watered-down version of our Aviation Instructor’s Handbook. These countries don’t have the same testing requirement for initial instructors.
